Irish Chocolate Coffee

I have been asked to expand by Cocktails Book by a bookseller in the U.K. that has sold my book quite well. One of the areas that were asked for is hot cocktails, so I have been playing with several classic drinks, one being "Irish Coffee" - Here is my twist on it: and of course why use store-bought when you can make your own: Whipped Cream and Hot Chocolate.

My expanded Cocktail book should be available in early November 2021.

Irish Chocolate Coffee

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons of powder sugar

½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

½ cup of Irish Whisky

½ cup of milk

½ cup of strong coffee

4 oz of dark chocolate, chopped

2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (unsweeten)

Chocolate curls or Cocoa Powder – Garnish

Place the heavy cream and the powdered sugar and vanilla into a stand mixer and whip until firm; set aside.

Place the milk and dark chocolate into a small saucepan and place over medium heat, stirring until the chocolate has melted. Then whisk in the coffee and cocoa powder, increase heat, whisking the whole time bring to almost a boil, remove from heat and whisk in the remaining cream and the whisky, pour into mugs and heatproof glasses and top off with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate curls or Cocoa Powder.
